A state judge ruled today that Portland mayoral candidate Sho Dozono was a candidate when a lobbyist paid for a $27,295 poll on his behalf and therefore violated the $12,000 cap on goods and services that a candidate can receive.
Dozono, who consequently lost his taxpayer help, is deliberating what course of action he will take.
The campaign said it will issue a statement within the next couple of hours.
