Senate Democrats not taking any chances

Despite having a comfortable majority in the Oregon Senate, Democrats are not taking any chances on losing the Gresham seat currently held by incumbent state Senator Laurie Monnes Anderson.  The Democratic caucus PAC controlled by Majority Leader Richard Devlin has donated over $160,000 worth of in-kind contributions to protect Monnes Anderson as she is challeneged by the Repubican write-in primary winner Dave Kim.  Insiders speculate the race is being "over-hyped" by some in the senate who are looking steal some of the attention away from House Democrats in their bid to gain a 36-seat super majority.  Regardless, Devlin and company are certainly not taking any chances on a potential Monnes Anderson loss.
