No shortage of ballot measures this November

Looks like convicted tax activist Bill Sizemore and Oregon's favorite GOP perennial candidate Kevin Mannix are back to re-write Oregon law they way they see best.  Ed Walsh from the Oregonian writes a must-read piece on the 14 possible ballot measures coming to voters this November.  Four of the initiatives have been referred by the Legislature.

While the Sizemore sponsored measures focus on attacking labor unions and mandating English be used to teach children whose primary tongue is foreign, the Mannix measures are looking to expand our already budget sucking prison system by giving mandatory minimum sentences for property crime offenses and limiting contingency fees primarily used by plaintiff's attorneys.

Looks like the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and the Oregon Education Association have their bank accounts monopolized this election season.
