First write-in candidate for November

Most of the time we ignore such political drivel, but this was too humorous to pass up. After gaining all of 2% of the Democratic primary vote in the race for US Senate, Pavel Goberman has now set his sights on Labor Commissoner by running a write-in campaign against newly appointed Commissioner Brad Avakian. This is pretty much it folks. In Oregon your statewide candidates are either liberal or crazy (or sometimes both).

Liberal or Crazy

Well, if Gordon Smith -- a "statewide candidate" -- isn't a liberal, what does that make him?

How do you come up with this kind of drivel? Ben Westlund, who just ran unopposed for the the Democratic nomination for state Treasurer was a Republican state senator until just a few years back. And that another Republican ran unopposed for the GOP nomination? So either way the vote goes in the general election, the Treasurer is going to be someone who was a Republican as recently as three years ago?

Did you miss that there was a Republican candidate for Secretary of State? That the only statewide contest in which there wasn't a Republican was Attorney General?
