Oregonian endorsements

A summary of The Oregonian’s endorsements in the May 20 primary election: the newspaper is backing Barack Obama for President, Steve Novick for U.S. Senate, Kate Brown for Secretary of State, Greg Macpherson for Attorney General, and Sam Adams for Mayor of Portland.

In races for Congress: Will Hobbs over incumbent David Wu in District 1; Democrat Kurt Schrader and Republican Kevin Mannix in District 5.

For State Senate: Jackie Dingfelder in District 23.

For State Representative: Garrett Brown in District 38; Cyreena Boston in District 45; Nick Kahl in District 49; and Suzanne VanOrman in District 52.
