Senate Democrats not taking any chances

Despite having a comfortable majority in the Oregon Senate, Democrats are not taking any chances on losing the Gresham seat currently held by incumbent state Senator Laurie Monnes Anderson.  The Democratic caucus PAC controlled by Majority Leader Richard Devlin has donated over $160,000 worth of in-kind contributions to protect Monnes Anderson as she is challeneged by the Repubican write-in primary winner Dave Kim.

Monnes Anderson in for a fight

The Oregon Senate Republicans may have little hope of regaining a majority this election cycle, but they decided to put up a fight in the 25th district.  GOP nominee Dave Kim just received $15,000 from the Leadership Fund led by Senate Minority Leader Ted Ferrioli in the race against incumbent Senator Laurie Monnes Anderson.

Future PAC, Macpherson lead in fundraising

The race for cash is off and running with Majority Leader Dave Hunt and the House Democrats leading in the amount of dough raised at $226,549 and Attorney General candidate Greg Macpherson with a whopping $251,525 on hand.

Kate Brown leads the charge in the Secretary of State race pulling in $155,295, however, Brad Avakian’s meager $2264 in his bank account speaks much louder and enhances recent speculation that he may be dismounting the SOS horse race altogether. Perhaps a better offer has come along?
