State parties react to Biden announcement

The Oregon Democratic Party and the Republican Party of Oregon had different reactions to Saturday’s announcement that U.S. Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) will be Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) running mate.

Erickson fights off DPO allegations of misrepresenting endorsements

The Democratic Party of Oregon accused 5th Congressional District candidate Mike Erickson (R-Lake Oswego) of repeatedly misrepresenting his endorsements, releasing a list of incidents involving what it believed to be Erickson’s misleading statements about support he has received from political officials in the state.

NRSC leaps into action for Senate campaign

The National Republican Senatorial Committee increased its involvement in Oregon's senate race on Friday by re-launching a website attacking Merkley for his record on taxes and by releasing a video addressing the controversy over ads produced by the Democratic Party of Oregon featuring Senate candidate Jeff Merkley (D-Portland).

    Oregon editorials blast Merkley for Democratic Party ads

    Newspapers from all over the state chastised Jeff Merkley’s (D-Portland) campaign this weekend for participating in what Merkley’s campaign maintains are issue ads by the state Democratic Party, but what the Smith campaign has accused of being campaign ads.

    Smith comments on ‘clumsy and regrettable’ statement on gay marriage

    Frank Dixon, the Democratic Party of Oregon’s first vice-chair, is calling on U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) to clarify remarks he made last week during a panel discussion on gay rights at the Center for American Progress.

    Smith responded to Dixon in an email to PolitickerOR.com.
