State Rep. Greg McPherson today won the endorsements of three key Democratic officials in his bid for the Democratic nomination for Attorney General. Rep. Darlene Hooley, State Treasurer Randall Edwards and Superintendent of Public Instruction Susan Castillo said they would support Macpherson for the state's top law enforcement post.
Macpherson, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, now has the backing of “all three of the current statewide elected officials who have taken positions in the race, two of the last three governors, and the only federal elected official who has chosen a candidate,” according to his campaign.
"Greg carried the state legislation cracking down on ID theft and meth manufacturing, two of the most important issues Oregon's Attorney General can deal with," said Hooley, whose district includes much of the northern Willamette Valley. "He's led the way in tackling Oregon's toughest challenges, and has made a real difference for Oregon families."
The Oregonian has endorsed GOP State Rep. John Lim for re-election, and wants Democrat Suzanne Van Orman to replace retiring Republican Patti Smith's seat. The newspaper is backing ... >
