Democratic Party Calls For Gordon Smith To Take Down Negative Ads Smith can’t even speak honestly about his record, he certainly can’t be trusted to discuss Democratic candidates’ records.
Portland - Today, Trent Lutz, the Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Oregon, called on Republican U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-OR) to remove his negative ads and stay out of the Democratic primary.
“Gordon Smith has become desperate. Smith can’t even speak honestly about his record, he certainly can’t be trusted to discuss our Democratic candidates’ records,” Lutz said. “Smith wants the race to be about anything but his record. He’s become a vending machine for votes for the special interests. He knows that his 90 percent record voting with President Bush has earned him a failing grade from Oregonians.”
