Too LateThe Message Precedes The Man. Before John McCain Hits Oregon, The DPO Has Already Forwarded “His” Voters’ Pamphlet Statement To Oregon Voters.

Portland – John McCain’s message arrived before he did.

Although the Arizona U.S. Senator and Republican nominee for president arrives in Oregon on Monday, Oregonians have been reading up on his record for the past week.

Loaded Orygun, Just Out, Northwest Progressive Institute, and Politicker OR have all reported on the DPO’s version of McCain’s Oregon Voters’ Pamphlet statement. And the statement has been emailed and forwarded to untold thousands of Oregon homes.

The voters’ pamphlet is a special Oregon tradition. It’s the easiest way to reach all 2.2 million registered voters in Oregon. The pamphlet is mailed to the home of every registered voter in Oregon – 1.7 million homes in all.

Since McCain didn’t take the time to submit a statement to the pamphlet - the first time in modern Oregon politics that a major presidential campaign has rejected the pamphlet – the DPO wrote the statement for him and has distributed it throughout Oregon.

“Senator McCain, your plans for a third Bush term precede you,” DPO Executive Director Trent Lutz said. “Oregonians already know about your 100-year plan for Iraq, and your out of touch attitude on the economy. They know all you offer is a third Bush term.”
