Nominate The Next President. Register To Vote.April 29 is deadline to register to vote in May 20, Democratic Primary. You must be a registered Democrat to vote in the Democratic primary.

Portland – If you want to help choose the next president in May, register to vote now.

The Democratic Party of Oregon spread that message today as it wrapped up a statewide voter registration drive to let Independents, Unaffiliateds, Republicans and every eligible Oregon voter know they can take part in our historic May 20 Democratic primary.

"If you want to have a voice in this primary, you need to act now," Super Delegate Jenny Greenleaf said. “The only way we can end the Iraq War, focus on health care and strengthen the economy is to elect a Democratic president. Go to oregondemocrats.org and register to vote now.”

Greenleaf, a devoted party activist and Super Delegate, and volunteers registered voters for the May 20 primary today at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland. The party has been working outdoors and online across the state to let every voting eligible Oregonian know they can participate in our primary.

County parties from Malheur to Washington have been phone banking, knocking on doors and handing out forms in public squares for several weeks, registering thousands of voters.

Other organizations and political campaigns have also been registering voters this year. According to The Oregonian, “Since Jan. 2 elections officials have registered more than 112,000 voters, roughly divided between new voters and those who have changed their party affiliation.”
