State Senator Kurt Schrader (D-Canby) picked up the endorsements of the legislators in his neighboring country.
All three Marion County Democrats—Senate President Peter Courtney and State Representatives Brian Clem and Betty Komp—are standing behind Schrader’s bid for the Democratic nomination in the 5th Congressional District.
Although the race only began in March, Schrader has pocketed most of union the endorsements, including that of the OEA, AFSCME 75 and the AFL-CIO. His opponent, Steve Marks, is supported by former Gov. John Kitzhaber and former Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon, Jim Edmunson, as well as a number of Mayors, including those from Lake Oswego and the former Mayor of Salem.

Schrader
It's amusing that so many Dems are rushing to endorse Schrader. Willamette Week is apparently sitting on a story about Schrader and a lobbyist-- a story that could call into question Schrader's judgment, and blow the race wide open. The conundrum for Schrader and his endorsers is whether they want to address this relationship issue in the primary or the general. This idol could have clay feet.
