Could Mannix bring down the Oregon GOP?

BlueOregon recently ran a piece on the speculation that our favorite perennial GOP candidate Kevin Mannix is now seriously considering running for either the 5th congressional district or for Attorney General. He proclaimed to the AP that "there is certainly still time to do what needs to be done" to start building up his campaign team. This has caused a few senior Oregon GOP officials to have some "serious chats" amongst each other to determine whether the party can withstand another Mannix candidacy.

Sources to the Inside edge have expressed grave concern for the future of the Oregon GOP should Mannix keep running for offices he has no ability of winning. His favorability ratings in recent polling data indicate he is as well loved by mainstream Oregonians as veteran tax activist and labor enemy Bill Sizemore. Despite Mannix's ability to raise $500,000 in one phone call to wealthy sex therapist Loren Parks, Republicans would rather see a more moderate candidate looking to build some name recognition run for either race and are doing all they can to keep Mannix from becoming a party spoiler.

Democratic activists on the other hand are salivating at the possible opportunity to crush Mannix and a few of his initiatives once and for all this coming general election cycle. With Democrats voting in much larger numbers than Republicans nationwide and very few inspirational GOP candidates on the Oregon ballot, some see this fall as a chance to put an end to the proverbial Mannix era.

No, Mannix is the GOP's best hope! He must be, because those

guys over at NWRepublican said so, and heaven knows they have their fingers on the pulse of Oregon politics!

In fact, Mannix should run for both the AG and the CD5!

No thanks

I am a conservative who would never vote for Mannix. Not after his work against Oregon gun owners and his sponsorship of measure 11 (mandatory minimum sentencing), which gets folks who shouldn't be there imprisoned on technicalities.
