UPDATED: Merkley raises $2.1 million in 3Q

U.S. Senate candidate Jeff Merkley (D-Portland) raised over $2.1 million dollars during the third quarter campaign finance period, according to Federal Election Commission forms released Wednesday.

Merkley raised $2,108,268.73 during the quarter, which spanned from July 1 to Sept. 30.

The Oregon house speaker also reported that he had $766,213.66 cash-on-hand to help carry him through to Election Day. The cash-on-hand figure is a good indicator of the kind of warchest Merkley has to rely on for the last three weeks of the election.

A previous version of this article incorrectly listed U.S. Senate candidate Jeff Merkley's  third quarter numbers as $1,954,414.96. That number did not take into account additional money from other committees. With those numbers added, Merkley's total receipts were $2,108,268.73. We regret the previous error.
