McCain campaign has no intention of pulling out of Oregon

“Our staff is still out there running hard,” McCain campaign spokesman Rick Gorka said.

McCain recently pulled out of Michigan, which polled as favoring Barck Obama by sixteen points, 54-38 percent. According to a poll conducted by SurveyUSA released Tuesday, Obama has a strong grip on Oregon as well, where he is leading 57-40 percent.

McCain has not been actively campaigning on local Oregon television, but he does have a network of offices and volunteers throughout the Beaver State. Gorka said they will continue to run phone banks and register voters. As for the poll, Gorka was suspicious of the results.

“I don’t buy that at all,” Gorka said of the 17-point gap. “Oregon has been incredibly close all summer.”

Calls to Obama’s campaign were not immediately returned.

A superficial amount of legwork by your intrepid ace

reporter would reveal that McCain has no ground game going in Oregon--- but regurgitating a press release is oh so much less taxing on the brain, isn't it, Brit?

First of all, McCain has had zero advertisement in Oregon. Zero. He can't pull out if he has never contested the state.

Second, if you try to sign up for his Get-out-the-vote program as a resident from Oregon, you are sent to a page where they ask you about your availability for campaigning elsewhere in the country.

Once again, reporting the real facts and story is left up the the amateurs, not the "professionals."

Running Hard???

If McCain's staff is "out there running hard," it's for the state line.

I just consigned all future Politickeror email to the junk mailbox.

when was McCain IN Oregon?

McCain won't pull out of Oregon?

When was he ever IN Oregon? His campaign is non-existent in this state, which makes the headline rather funny.
