Oregonian publishes quick hits from Smith editorial board interview

The Oregonian released highlights from its editorial board meeting with U.S. Senator Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) Wednesday.

Harry Esteve reported that the interview covered topics ranging from the current economic crisis, to Smith calling the Iraq war criminal, to his wife’s reaction when she saw three attack ads against the incumbent senator aired in a row.

"I've been married to you for 33 years and I never knew you were such a dirtbag," Sharon Smith told her husband, according to the paper.

The Oregonian has yet to come out with an endorsement in Oregon’s senate race.
