According to the article, a spokeswoman for Smith said Schwarzenegger is unable to attend because of the budget crisis in California.
No word on if the fundraiser luncheon, which is supposed to take place at 11:30 Friday morning at the Portland Convention Center, is still happening. Tickets to the event were $1,000, and priority seating cost
$2,500.
Smith has been waging a tough re-election battle against U.S. Senate candidate Jeff Merkley (D-Portland). According to a poll released Thursday, the incumbent Senator is maintaining a slim lead over the Oregon House Speaker, 42 percent to 39 percent.
