Freedom’s Watch responded Thursday to State Sen. and Congressional candidate Kurt Schrader’s (D-Canby) campaign’s dismissal of their robo calls, saying that Schrader’s indifference toward their calls matches his indifference toward CD-5 residents paying an exorbitant price at the pump.
“Kurt Schrader's response to the robocalls is the same as his response to debilitating gas prices: a shrug of the shoulders,” Freedom’s Watch spokesman Tim Pearson said. “I imagine his constituents don't share his antipathy towards either one.”
The conservative action group began sending a new round of robo calls to Schrader’s constituents in CD-5 on Wednesday, accusing Schrader of not taking any legislative action to reduce fuel prices at the pump, such as waiving the state’s gas tax of 25 cents per gallon of gas. According to Pearson, the calls are scheduled to continue through the end of the week.
