The clock is ticking for reporting second quarter fundraising numbers, and all eyes are turned toward 5th congressional district candidates Mike Erickson (R-Lake Oswego) and State Sen. Kurt Schrader (D-Canby), neither of who have filed FEC reports.
The two candidates looking to replace outgoing Rep. Darlene Hooley (D-West Linn) have until midnight tonight to release the amount their campaigns have raised between April 1 and June 30. The numbers are indicators as to which candidate has the money and the momentum to take them through summer campaigning.
At the end of last quarter, Erickson had a slight edge over Schrader in cash on hand, reporting $85,847 even while his campaign was $2,158,720 in debt.
Meanwhile, several Congressional incumbents in less competitive districts have already reported their numbers.
