Watkins named GOP's Oregon Victory director

The Republican National Committee announced today that it is bringing in Bryan Watkins as the new Oregon Victory Director.

"We are pleased to have Bryan Watkins join the team," said Brianne Hyder, communications director for ORGOP in an email. "His campaign experience will help us elect Republicans in Oregon all the way down the ballot."

Watkins most recently hails from San Diego, California, where he was campaign manager for Bob Watkins, a Republican running in California's 52nd district, which includes San Diego County. The district is solidly Republican, and if elected Bob Watkins is to replace U.S Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Alpine). Before that, he served as the California Field Representative for the ill-fated Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee, and on the 2006 campaign to re-elect California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The announcement came in a press release that also announced a slew of new state directors for the GOP. Other states getting new directors are Michigan, Virginia, Florida, New Hampshire and Iowa.
